Selection guidance

  • Confirm the hazardous-area classification first: gas Zone 1 / Zone 2 or dust Zone 21 / Zone 22, plus the gas group (IIA / IIB / IIC) and required temperature class.
  • Match the Ex marking on the camera nameplate to the area classification — Ex markings are not interchangeable between models.
  • Decide between PTZ, fixed bullet, dome, thermal or dual-spectrum based on coverage, identification distance and whether temperature measurement is required.
  • Check enclosure material (304 vs 316L stainless steel), ingress rating, ambient temperature range and cable gland entry size for the installation location.
  • Confirm power availability on site: PoE, PoE+, DC 24 V or AC 100–240 V variants are not universal across models.

Typical project applications

  • Hazardous-area process monitoring
  • Tank farm and loading terminal surveillance
  • Offshore platform and FPSO monitoring
  • Refinery and chemical plant security

Frequently asked questions

What information is needed for an explosion-proof CCTV quotation for an international project?

Send the area classification, gas or dust group, temperature class, ambient and corrosion conditions, required view or identification distance, power and network constraints, quantity and delivery location.

How do I choose between Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 and Zone 22 camera equipment?

Use the site's hazardous-area classification and match it to the complete Ex marking on the exact equipment certificate and nameplate. Gas zones and dust zones are different; the zone alone is not enough without equipment group, protection concept and temperature limits.

Can TIKEM TECH quote a complete hazardous-area CCTV package?

TIKEM TECH can coordinate cameras, suitable junction boxes and mounting hardware, recording and control equipment, subject to the exact project scope. Each quoted component and its documentation are reviewed separately.
