The problem

Ports, borders, coastlines and large industrial perimeters need detection and identification at distances conventional cameras cannot reach, often at night or in haze where visible contrast disappears.

Long-range platforms combine high-magnification visible zoom with thermal imaging and, where appropriate, laser illumination. We work backwards from the target distance and the level of detail required — detection, observation, recognition or identification — then specify sensor, lens, gimbal payload and mounting structure accordingly.

How far can these cameras see?
Detection range depends on sensor, lens, target size and atmospheric conditions. Where the manufacturer publishes a range for a model we show it; otherwise we size the configuration against your target distance instead of quoting a generic number.
